Every year they receive hundreds of Christmas decorations. The Christmas decorations that was throw many years ago are collected and displayed on their entrance every year.

Different Christmas trees, Santa figurines, reindeer, toy snowmen, baubles and elves adorn their garden as you pass by.

Retired decorator Barry Howard, 66, said: 'Taking the rubbish down the tip at Christmas is one of those jobs that everyone hates doing.

'The queues are very long and it's not usually the most attractive place to look at.

'I didn't expect to have a smile put on my face when I came down here, but you can't help feeling a little bit festive when you see that they've gone to such an effort to brighten the place up.

'But it's a pity I can't recycle the wife's presents like this every year.'

Mark Heesom, the site's general manager at Veolia, said: 'It's nice to bring the Christmas spirit to our customers who support recycling all year.

'It would be a shame to destroy all these decorations so we thought lets give them another chance at bringing a bit of festive cheer to people.'
